Join your friends and friends-to-be on the 2010 Annual Strawberry Century tour. Hop on your bike in beautiful June weather and enjoy 101, 72, 53 or 13 miles of rolling to moderately hilly landscapes, historic towns, and scenic views of the Cascades and Willamette Valley. Your ride will take you on little-traveled backroads of Linn County along the Santiam and Calapooia rivers. There is great food at two full sag stops culminating with a fresh strawberry dessert at the finish! Several other water stops with bananas and cookies are along the routes also. Then there are the people who make it all happen — a warm, friendly, and helpful group who direct you at important points, serve you food, and help out in an emergency. Limited to 750 entrants Starting in Yaquina Bay State Park at the historic "haunted" lighthouse, runners will head north along the ocean through some of Newport's picturesque neighborhoods. This loop through the city is primarily residential with a few short gentle hills and turns at street corners. Heading back through the starting area, runners will proceed downhill under the Yaquina Bay Bridge to the bayfront. Past shops, restaurants, galleries and a large fishing village, the course continues along the bay. Just past mile four, there is a short hill that rises about 40 feet then gently descends back to bay level where it continues for the remainder of the race. The course follows the Yaquina Bay and River estuary to mile 15 where it turns back toward town, retracing the same route. The gentle hill at mile four reappears at mile 26, and it's downhill from there to the finish.

This race is all about pampering! You'll be treated to a fabulous Eugene course that starts downtown, meanders along 10+ miles of the beautiful Willamette River and finishes at the 5th Street Market. Not to mention an incredible swag bag, women's technical t-shirt, unique finisher's charm and a Finish Line Festival with mini spa experiences, Ghirardelli Chocolates, Mimosas and more! Get your girlfriends, sisters, running partners and plan for the Eugene Women's Half Marathon this summer.

COURSE LIMIT:

The race course is open for 3 hours and 30 minutes. The finish line is open for 4 hours. Participants running/walking slower than 3 1/2 hour pace will be asked to move to the sidewalks if approached by the sweeper team, but may still complete the race if within 4 hours. Course support - such as water and aid stations - are shut down after 3 1/2 hours.
