Students are provided with the tools and problem solving methods for systematically assessing musculoskeletal conditions of their clients allowing them to take a medically oriented approach to soft-tissue pain and dysfunction. Palpation skills, discussion of structural compensations for accidents, illness, repetitive work injury, athletic activities, postural analysis, gait analysis, muscle testing, and measurements of range of motion are covered here in more depth. These skills will assist a therapist in determining how massage should be used, methods of condition management, and methods of evaluation to obtain measurable results. Included in this course are advanced skills such as Cyriax friction, factilitated, passive, active, and resisted stretching, trigger point therapy, strain/counter strain, and joint mobilizations. This section is the combination of the upper and lower body. The course can be taken as a whole, or taken as two separate sections (lower and upper body).
