Brooklyn mosquitoes are serious. Really. They’re not joking. These urban bloodsuckers ambushed my ankles in a surprise attack during a spring BBQ a few weeks ago and it took days for the itch to subside. Summer was weeks away and so I had yet to prepare for these pests. I was vulnerable and unarmed, without a drop of bug spray on my body. Never again.
