Organic Hair Care for All

Organic Hair Care for All

May 5, 2009   Marisa Belger

I challenge you to find a daily use shampoo and conditioner that is unisex, affordable and organic. Actually, don’t worry about it. I challenged myself and here’s what I found:

For months I hunted for an organic shampoo and an organic conditioner that would tame my thick wavy hair while cleansing my husband’s fine locks without leaving either of us smelling like a gardenia, a peach cobbler or a stick of patchouli incense. And it had to be inexpensive too.

Not an easy challenge, but the solution has been keeping us both happy and well coiffed. Giovanni’s hair care products are made with organic ingredients like Valencia orange extract, sea kelp extract and lavender extract. The subtle fragrance is fresh and clean—slightly fruity and gender neutral—and though the price can differ at various retail locations, I recently scored a two-for-one conditioner special (one for $7.99) at my local Rite Aid (additional perk: Giovanni products are often available at big name supermarkets and drug stores, eliminating the need to hunt them down at a health food store).
